YS-1 is an adapter that allows for connecting external headphone kit with S2 plug (standard for Icom radiostations 2m/7cm and duobanders) to radiostations equipped with Y1 socket (standard for Yaesu radiostations 2m/70cm and duobanders).

In most cases YS-1 is not suitable for headphone kits designed for aerial band communication (118-136Mhz, AM modulation). Despite both sockets and plugs are of the same size, aerial standard requires different plug rings connection.
